My research interests are focused on the intelligent control of autonomous marine robots. In particular, I am interested in how robots can adapt their motion to increase their knowledge about the environment based on real-time data from both generic and application specific sensors, especially for distributed sensing problems where multiple, collaborating sensors can each view the environment from different vantage points. I am currently working on a number of applications including target localization and tracking for fixed and moving targets, and adaptive rapid environmental assessment of the ocean environment.
